Word search information

  • The search for a word, e.g. θέα, automatically yields all the words beginning with the θ-ε-α letter sequence, e.g. θέατρα, θεατράκι (the number next to each word gives the frequency of that word’s occurrence in the corpus).
  • By using an asterisk (*), e.g. *θέα* or *θέα, the search yields not only the word θέα, but also all the words containing the θ-ε-α letter sequence (e.g., αξιοθέατα) or ending in it (e.g. άθεα).
  • Stress does not affect the search process. For instance, the search for the word θέα is successful even when the word is typed without a stress (e.g. θεα). Conversely, the search results for the word ποτέ will also include the word πότε.
  • Every word in the corpus appears in its contextual environment consisting of three lines of transcribed text. These lines may contain utterances by different speakers (in which case, they are symbolized in different color icons before every line).
  • The number of every conversation, telephone call, television interview etc. on the top left corner of the contextual environment is an active link, which directs users to a larger excerpt of 5 lines.
  • The search for pairs of words, e.g. σιγά σιγά, της έδωσα, το παιδί, is also possible.
